FOR ALL THE FUNDRAISER'S.....YOU ARE WONDERFUL.

This is the thing...there are so many wonderful and inspiring people out there and YOU are one of them.

It is true, and you probably don't hear it very often, you probably don't expect it or you probably don't know what to do with such a compliment because you're not used to it!

If you are about to embark on any kind of fundraising venture please, please, please feel free to post it over on our facebook page,https://www.facebook.com/CarersCoffeePot it's for your charitable cause and we recognise the importance of your chosen charities are very personal to you.

Whether it is to gain awareness or help towards funding research or enabling young, elderly and their families for respite , whatever the need, then please post your info there.

Here at Carers Coffee Pot,we will be getting together with Vintage Norah who will soon be making available vintage awareness pins/jewellery very soon.

 ABOUT VINTAGE NORAH

Think it's best to let Vintage Norah tell you about it. Here is their post from http://vintagenorah.wordpress.com/........

RECRAFTED VINTAGE AWARENESS

So, what to do with all the oddments?

AN EARRING WITH NO CLASP, FAUX PEARLS FROM A BROKEN NECKLACE, PINK LACE ALSO IN THE ‘ODD BOX’!

It was  inevitable that there were going to be the ‘odd’ earring here and a lonesome button there, even the broken pieces without clips or clasps!!!! I have a boxful...and this is the plan everyone…!

VLUU L200 / Samsung L200
A HATPIN. FLOWER IS AN ODD EARRING. BEAD IS ANOTHER LONER!

There is going to be a little recrafting going on. WhereverI can, I’m going to give these items the new lease of life they all deserve and continue their destiny of adornment!!! (Ooo,that sounded good!!!)

However, there is a twist…. you see, alot of Norahs gatherings have already gone towards many and various good causes. One of which (in keeping with her faith) was to help a local church raise funds for a trip to Lourdes….something which she would have loved as she took part in one of their parades when she was just a young girl.

There has already been interest by a golf club here to raise funds for their annual chosen charity, which is for Lung awareness.
Small & large pins, Bag charms even spectacle chainOf course, numbers are limited to the ‘oddments ‘ available, which on the plus side makes them a little more unique.
Keep a look out for more on these over the next couple of weeks.

SCOPE...“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Have had a lovely conversation with a gentleman from SCOPE today. Sadly, i'm not in a position at the moment to commit each month financially to this wonderful cause. However,  he did agree that it would be ok for me to put something on the blog. True to my word ,here it is. My gift to you...awareness,pass it on.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Mahatma Gandhi

SCOPE, what are they all about...in their own words, this is what they do

'... We're all about changing society for the better, so that disabled people and their families can have the same opportunities as everyone else.
We work with disabled people and their families at every stage of their lives. We offer practical support – from information services to education and everyday care.
We challenge assumptions about disability, we influence decision makers and we show what can be possible.
Everything we do is about creating real and lasting positive change in individual lives and in the world around us. We believe that together we can create a better society.'

Now,as professional carers, you and I all know just how close to home the reality of all these families go through on a daily basis.
I freely admit that it wasn't until I became a carer in the community that I realised the huge scale of help and support required.Too often we acknowledge difficulties but tend to think that it is happening somewhere else.

So, lets stop this 'not in my backyard' approach and do what we can to help.

When it comes to donations it is a personal choice and Im sure that if we were in a healthy financial position many charities would benefit.

Choosing your charity is also a very personal choice and that is respected.

On this occasion, I would just like for you to get familiar with SCOPE.There are many ways you can help, and there is a fantastic support network in place.
